M/2 pulling sweep

Rick Macauley showed us this move at his seminar. Thanks to Andrew for helping me with my notes. This is a good sweep if the opponent steps over your body.

  1. Establish m/2 guard from half guard on his right side.

  2. Opponent kicks his free (left) leg around and over top of your body. He might sink to a kind of ushiro kesa gatame or attempt a kneebar.

  3. Use your inside (right) hand to feed his (left) lapel to your outside (left) hand.

  4. Switch your hooks controlling opponent's leg again so that your inside (right) foot hooks beneath their leg and your outside (left) secures over it.

  5. Shoot your inside (right) arm under his armpit across opponent's neck, while also kicking up with your inside foot.

  6. Pull with your lapel as your cross face with your other hand and Switch hips and roll opponent over your shoulder.

  7. Immediately finish sweep to side control and go for the arm triangle choke.
